Castlepoint Numa and Hazelview Investments Break Ground at 72 Perth Avenue in Toronto

On May 22, 2026, Castlepoint Numa and Hazelview Investments officially broke ground at 72 Perth Avenue, marking the commencement of construction on an 18-storey purpose-built rental development in Toronto’s Junction Triangle.

The project will deliver approximately 255 rental homes, including 51 affordable units. The development is supported through the City of Toronto’s Rental Housing Supply Program, with WoodGreen Community Services serving as the project’s affordable housing partner, and the CMHC’s Apartment Construction Loan Program.

The site forms part of Castlepoint Numa’s broader Junction Triangle master plan and reflects a transit-oriented, design-focused and sustainability-driven approach to urban infill development. The project also follows completion of entitlements and rezoning approvals that increased permitted density from 10 storeys to 18 storeys following extensive consultation and City of Toronto approval in May 2025. The development is intended to deliver long-term community benefit through a mix of rental housing types, integrated affordable housing and professionally managed rental operations, with Hazelview Investments acting as property manager upon completion. Initial occupancy is scheduled for December 2028.

Aird & Berlis LLP represented Castlepoint Numa with a team led by Andrew Webster (Real Estate) and including Mistrale Lepage-Chouinard, Peter A. Dalglish and Carlos Casasola (Real Estate), Eileen Costello and Naomi Mares (Municipal, Land Use Planning & Development) and Ryan Chalmers (Projects & Infrastructure).
