Aird & Berlis is profoundly saddened by the passing of Hayden Solomons on August 2, 2020.

Hayden's genuine interest in real estate and his extraordinary commitment to getting the deal done for his clients in spite of obstacles and time constraints have earned him a reputation as a true leader in the real estate legal industry. He is highly regarded for his sound judgement and practical business strategies, and for his legal knowledge and passion for being the driving force that brings his clients' deals across the finish line. Hayden's excitement and intensity for transactional work is balanced by his friendly and down-to-earth approach.

Hayden is a leading member of the Real Estate Group with over 25 years of real property law experience. His practice encompasses all aspects of real property transactions, including the acquisition, divestiture, development, leasing and financing of all classes of real estate, such as commercial office complexes, retail shopping centres, residential apartment buildings, mixed-use condominiums, hotels, retirement homes and long-term residences, as well as secured lending. He has extensive experience in joint venture structuring, portfolio acquisitions, dispositions, financings and restructurings (both for lending syndicates and corporate borrowers), and also practices corporate commercial law, with an emphasis on the acquisition or privatization of public real estate enterprises and capital markets transactions. He has advised on a wide range of transactions for both private and public companies, funds and REITs.

Hayden began his career at Aird & Berlis in 1994 as a summer student.
