David has a creative yet methodical approach to his practice that enables him to provide high quality service to all of his clients. He is committed to delivering innovative and strategic direction to his clients as they navigate heavily-regulated industries. David uses an array of business management skills to help companies and individuals manage complex, time-sensitive transactions.

As a member of the Capital Markets group, David advises clients from a variety of industries and across multiple stages of development. His practice focuses on securities law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, start-ups and emerging companies, venture capital and corporate governance. While working for an international risk consulting firm prior to joining Aird & Berlis, David also gained experience with a range of business intelligence issues, including pre-transactional due diligence, litigation asset traces and investigations into alleged fraud.

Representative Matters

Represented Harborside Inc., a California-focused, vertically-integrated cannabis enterprise, in the completion of a brokered private placement offering of units for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $35 million. 

Represented Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust, a leading owner, manager and developer of distinctive urban workspace in Canada’s major cities and network-dense urban data centres in Toronto, in its completion of a $600 million debt offering of 1.726% series H senior unsecured debentures. The Series H Debentures are Allied’s inaugural Green Bond issuance under its recently announced Green Financing Framework.
