Aird & Berlis Welcomes Two New Estates & Trusts Group Members

We are pleased to announce that partner Archie Rabinowitz and associate Holly Cunliffe have joined the firm as members of our Estates & Trusts Group.

Archie is a leading estates and trusts litigator who represents a wide range of trust companies, government agencies and individuals. His expertise includes advising on the contested passing of accounts, validity of wills, estate claims, breach of trust actions, undue influence claims, interpretation of wills and the appointment or removal of trustees or guardians. He has substantial trial and appellate experience in fiduciary litigation. 

Archie is a recipient of the Ontario Bar Association’s Award of Excellence in Trusts and Estates, as well as its Widdifield Award for the best original article in the Estates, Trusts & Pensions Journal. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Trusts and Estates, and by Chambers High Net Worth Guide as a leading professional adviser to the private wealth market in Canada.

Holly focuses on providing clients with practical solutions to estate, trust and capacity issues, while helping them navigate through emotionally challenging litigation with compassion. She represents individuals and trust companies in a wide range of court proceedings, such as will challenges, applications to pass attorney and trustee accounts, dependent support claims, rectification and interpretation of wills and trusts, variations of trust deeds, power of attorney and capacity disputes, estate and trust administration issues, trustee applications for advice and directions, appointment or removal of trustees/guardians, breaches of trust and guardianships.

Holly sits on the executive committee of the Ontario Bar Association’s Elder Law section, and is an Associate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
