Archie is a leading estates and trusts litigator. He is a recipient of the Ontario Bar Association's Award of Excellence in Trusts and Estates, as well as its Widdifield Award for the best original article in the Estates Trusts & Pensions Journal.
As a member of the firm’s Tax Group and Estates & Trusts Group, he has extensive experience with the contested passing of accounts, validity of wills, estate claims, breach of trust actions, undue influence claims, interpretation of wills and the appointment or removal of trustees or guardians. He also has substantial trial and appellate experience in fiduciary litigation. Archie represents a wide range of trust companies, government agencies and individuals.
Archie also has extensive experience in rectification/repairs/variations to defective wills and trusts, and as counsel on professional negligence claims arising out of contentious trust & estate matters.
