On July 1, 2020, a new regulatory framework associated with the redevelopment of Brownfield properties and the management of excess construction soils will be coming into effect in Ontario. O. Reg. 406/19 is a regulation that was recently released under the Environmental Protection Act by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). It aims to reduce costs and simplify the process for reusing the excess soils produced during construction, while ensuring the protection of both the environment and human health.
