Lion Force Transport Placed Into Receivership Following Dismissal of CCAA Application
On May 15, 2026, Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) obtained an order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) appointing The Fuller Landau Group Inc. as receiver over the assets, undertakings and properties of Lion Force Transport Inc., a Brampton, Ontario-based trucking and logistics company, and its related entities.
The order was made pursuant to section 243(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and section 101 of the Courts of Justice Act following approximately $53 million in indebtedness and a series of admitted defaults under the respondents’ credit facilities. The court also dismissed a competing application by the respondents for relief under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, finding that the proposed restructuring lacked a sufficiently developed plan. In its reasons, the court noted concerns including unpaid drivers and suppliers, property tax arrears, a WSIB garnishment, insurance issues and competing creditor enforcement activity across assets in North America.
