Kieran combines legal insight with a strong foundation in public policy to deliver strategic counsel in insolvency and restructuring. His practice sits at the intersection of litigation, finance and regulatory strategy, where he thrives under pressure and delivers timely, tailored solutions. Kieran spent nearly a decade advising Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers and Party Leaders at both Queen’s Park and on Parliament Hill. His work spanned mortgage lending and securitization, bank regulation, open banking and insolvency law reform. He draws from this experience to guide clients through complex legal and financial challenges.

Kieran is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group. He advises on insolvency and commercial matters pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act. Kieran’s clients include creditors, debtors, court-appointed officers and other stakeholders involved in bankruptcy, receivership and restructuring proceedings.

Prior to joining the firm, Kieran served as a senior advisor to the Honourable Erin O’Toole and later to Ontario’s Attorney General, the Honourable Doug Downey. In these roles, he managed legal risk, helped shape legislative strategy and contributed to several key reforms such as the Enhancing Access to Justice Act, 2023, Legal Aid Ontario’s modernization and improvements to Tribunals Ontario. Kieran’s work has spanned a variety of regulated sectors, including alcohol, gambling and cannabis.
