Adrienne is a strategic thinker who is passionate about solving her clients’ legal problems. She excels at distilling complex facts and technical legal arguments into practical, business-oriented advice.
Adrienne is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group and Distressed Real Estate Group. She specializes in working with stakeholders in restructuring and insolvency mandates. She has experience with out-of-court restructurings as well as with BIA, CCAA and cross-border proceedings across a variety of industries. She has acted for banks, debtors, court officers and sureties, and she was appointed Amicus Curiae in a receivership proceeding.
Adrienne can draw upon her broad experience, having been involved in matters in the transit, mining and infrastructure/public private partnerships (P3s) space. She also articled with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and was a junior counsel at a large financial services company.
Adrienne is recognized for her publications related to the practice of law. Her article, “The Treatment of Ipso Facto Clauses in Canada,” has been cited by the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Superior Court of Quebec, the Supreme Court of Canada (in dissent) and the Supreme Court of India in proceedings involving insolvency matters. Adrienne also enjoys speaking about law, having presented at the Annual Review of Insolvency Law Conference and the Canadian Bar Association National Insolvency Law Conference. She also served as Next Gen Liaison on the planning committee for the 2022 Annual Review of Insolvency Law Conference. While pursuing an LL.M. at Columbia Law School, she conducted supervised research on American bankruptcy law and provided policy recommendations to Mauritius' financial services regulator.
Represented BMO, as secured lender, in the Tokyo Smoke CCAA proceedings.
