Pride at Work

Archive Now Available!

In a 2015 survey, Pride at Work Canada asked Canadians whether or not discrimination against gender and sexual minorities was an issue. Depending on who you asked, the responses were very different: 67% of straight, cisgender respondents said there was no discrimination whatsoever and 62% of sexual and gender minority respondents said they had either witnessed or experienced discrimination on the grounds of gender expression, gender identity and/or sexual orientation.

Join Pride at Work Canada Executive Director, Colin Druhan and Aird & Berlis Workplace Law Group Leader, Lorenzo Lisi as they discuss ways to empower employers to build inclusive workplaces and outline the laws which protect the LGBTQ2+ community on the job.

Topics include:

Identify refresher: What does LGBTQ2+ mean?

Tips for employers on what language to use in the LGBTQ2+ space

Legally defining discrimination in the workplace as related to LGBTQ2+ employees

How family status accommodation applies to LGBTQ2+ employees
