Bill 148: The Overhaul of the Employment Standards Act

Date: Tuesday, September 26, 2017
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. ET

Big changes to Ontario’s current employment standards are coming as a result of Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017. On June 1, 2017, the Ontario government introduced this new legislation, which, if passed, would impact employers’ rights and obligations as early as
January 2018.

Join us to find out how the proposed amendments to Ontario’s Employment Standards Act, 2000 would affect your business and garner insight on how best to prepare for the implications and manage the changes, should they come into effect. In this webinar, our panel will discuss some of the key changes, including those related to:

  • Independent contractors
  • Part-time, casual, seasonal employee wage parity
  • Temporary help agencies
  • Scheduling and work locations
  • Call-in pay
  • Personal leave
  • Employee contact information disclosure
