BMO Obtains Receivership Order Over Two Ontario Companies
October 29, 2026
On October 29, 2026, Bank of Montreal ("BMO") obtained an order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice appointing The Fuller Landau Group Inc. as receiver, without security, over the assets, undertakings and properties of 1001128764 Ontario Inc. and 2619355 Ontario Inc. (the "Debtors"), including the real property municipally known as 8873 Provincial Highway 11 in Orillia, Ontario.
As of September 4, 2026, the Debtors owed BMO approximately $3.12 million. The Debtors operate a gas station and convenience store on the property, which also includes a commercial building with five retail units. However, operations were intermittent in 2026, resulting in loan defaults and BMO’s loss of confidence in the Debtors to manage their operations.
Aird & Berlis acted as counsel to BMO with a team including Kyle Plunkett, Josh Suttner and Jaclyn Tarola (Financial Services).
