Mark van Zandvoort Recognized as a 2025 Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyers 40 and Under

Aird & Berlis is proud to announce that Mark van Zandvoort has been recognized as a 2025 Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyers 40 and Under.

Mark is Co-Practice Group Leader of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group and a member of the Financial Services Group. Mark has extensive experience in a broad range of corporate, commercial and financial services litigation, often involving contract, fraud and other torts, negligence and allegations of oppression. He is a dedicated advisor and fierce advocate who ensures that conflicts are dealt with effectively and economically for his clients.  

Mark’s clients span a diverse range of sectors and include public, private and not-for-profit corporations, partnerships, financial institutions, court-appointed receivers, charitable organizations, directors and officers, shareholders and sole proprietors, as well as individuals and businesses of all sizes. Mark provides comprehensive support to guide his clients to satisfactory outcomes when disputes arise and strategically prepares them for litigation when early resolution is not possible. He has also served in the capacity as court-appointed Representative Counsel for a body of unit holders in receivership proceedings commenced under the Ontario Securities Act.

Over the years, Mark has developed a niche for obtaining urgent injunctive relief from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on behalf of his clients, often in cases involving fraud and in other circumstances where his clients require immediate relief from the court. Mark is also a regular participant in private and court-mandated mediations and has experience successfully litigating disputes through private arbitration.
