Aird & Berlis Welcomes Joshua Sutherland and Dan Fogarty
We are pleased to welcome Joshua Sutherland and Dan Fogarty as new partners of the firm. Josh is a member of our Indigenous Practice and Workplace Law Groups and Dan is a member of our Corporate and Indigenous Practice Groups.
Josh advises First Nations and Indigenous organizations, as well as federally and provincially regulated employers, on all facets of workplace and employment law.
Josh regularly advises Chief and Council, boards of directors, in-house counsel, senior management and human resources professionals on a broad range of governance matters and workplace issues. His experience includes employee dismissals, human rights matters, performance management, workplace investigations, workplace policies and executive and employee contracts. Josh also develops and delivers workplace training programs tailored to clients' needs. He is an experienced advocate who has represented clients before courts, tribunals and adjudicators across Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Dan has founded and built multiple entrepreneurial ventures, equipping him with a strong understanding of the commercial realities behind every legal question.
Dan focuses his practice on nuanced corporate and restructuring matters in both domestic and cross-border contexts. He also advises Indigenous Nations, not-for-profit organizations and economic development entities on major projects, settlement trusts, corporate governance and structuring. Dan works closely with his Indigenous clients to provide support and guidance based on their needs and priorities.
