Dan has founded and built multiple entrepreneurial ventures, equipping him with a strong understanding of the commercial realities behind every legal question. His depth of corporate and structuring knowledge, paired with hands-on business experience and a highly technical skill set, inform his pragmatic, detail-oriented approach. Clients rely on Dan for his ability to distil complex corporate problems and clearly communicate what they mean for their business and stakeholders.
Dan is a member of the firm's Corporate and Indigenous Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on nuanced corporate and restructuring matters in both domestic and cross-border contexts. Dan also advises Indigenous Nations, not-for-profit organizations and economic development entities on major projects, settlement trusts, corporate governance and structuring. He works closely with his Indigenous clients to provide support and guidance based on their needs and priorities.
Dan came to law after more than a decade working in Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, foreign asset reporting, cross-border consulting and CRA audits and appeals. He leverages this experience to deliver solutions that account for both legal and structuring-related considerations.
