Shaun is a practical and solution-orientated advocate. With a background in research and drafting, he applies both an analytical and creative lens to addressing his clients’ legal challenges. In fast-paced restructuring mandates, Shaun is able to see the big picture and manages immediate concerns while keeping broader goals in mind.
Shaun is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group. He is experienced in complex matters, ranging from insolvency proceedings and fraud to commercial disputes. In his insolvency practice, Shaun acts for debtors, financial institutions, creditors, court officers and other insolvency professionals.
Shaun is Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Insolvency Law Section. His work has been published in Commercial Insolvency Reporter, the Journal of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professional’s Rebuilding Success magazine.

Representative Matters
Represented Royal Bank of Canada in securing the
appointment of a receiver for a group of Ontario-based construction companies indebted
to RBC for approximately $4.3 million.
Represented Business Development Bank of Canada in its successful application to appoint a receiver over the assets, undertakings and properties of 2868335 Ontario Inc., a property management company based in Brampton, Ontario.
Represented Royal Bank of Canada in its successful application to appoint a receiver over the assets of Dixie Chrysler Ltd., a car dealership business indebted to RBC for approximately $10.5 million.
Represented Royal Bank of Canada in securing the appointment of a receiver for Tung Air Transport Ltd., 2527366 Ontario Inc., R. Lessard Trucking Limited and 1000101395 Ontario Inc., operators of a logistics and trucking services business.
Represented Laurentel Developments in securing the appointment of a receiver for Pro/Com Realty Corp. and 1983880 Ontario Inc., operators of a privately-owned real estate investment venture, holding property outside of Ottawa.
Represented Tandia Financial Credit Union Limited in securing the appointment of a receiver for 2492029 Ontario Inc., operator of a gas station in Shanty Bay, Ontario.
Represented the Noteholders of The Lion’s Share Group Inc. as representative counsel in the company’s receivership proceedings.
Represented Charles Perlman in defeating a motion by Winning Brands Corporation to strike or halt a bankruptcy application in Ontario, affirming Canadian jurisdiction over the case.
Represented The Toronto-Dominion Bank in securing its application to place Buchh Holding Inc. and its affiliates into receivership.
