Since 2021, the provincial government in Ontario has enacted a series of changes aimed at improving workplaces and the working environment across the province. These changes have largely fallen under the Working for Workers legislative regime, which has amended existing legislation, notably the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and introduced new legislation, most notably the Digital Platform Workers’ Rights Act, 2022.

This article summarizes the legislative changes introduced under the Working for Workers Act regime, beginning with the most recent proposed changes from the Working for Workers Seven Act, 2025.
