Tim Lowman and Kaitlin Soye examine the intellectual property issues arising from the development and use of artificial intelligence in Canada. They explore how Canadian law and courts are addressing AI's impact on copyright, with a particular focus on Toronto Star Newspapers Limited v. OpenAI Inc., a generative AI training copyright infringement case currently before the Ontario Superior Court.
