Tim Lowman Elected Secretary of IPIC Board of Directors

Congratulations to Tim Lowman on being elected as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) for 2020-2021. The Board takes into account the diversity of roles existing in the profession and is composed of IP lawyers, patents agents, trademark agents, litigators and corporate practitioners.

Tim is head of the Aird & Berlis Intellectual Property Group and a member of its Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He has more than 40 years of experience as counsel in a broad range of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, professional errors and omissions, trade secrets, invention ownership, product liability and employment law claims, in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, Federal Court of Canada, Ontario Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.

Tim's appointment demonstrates his commitment to furthering IPIC's mission of helping to shape a policy and business environment that encourages the development, use and value of intellectual property.
