Aird & Berlis is pleased to announce that Aaron Baer, Brian Chung, Jeremy Nemers, Jesse Rosensweet and Graham Topa have become partners of the firm.

Aaron Baer practices corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and regulatory matters for private and public companies. He has a keen interest in legal technology and has played a leading role in the firm’s adoption of artificial intelligence, legal project management and data analytics tools that are transforming the practice of law.

Brian Chung is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. He maintains a general litigation practice with an emphasis on corporate and commercial litigation, quasi-criminal regulatory matters and construction litigation.

Jeremy Nemers is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group, practising in the areas of insolvency and restructuring law, with an emphasis on both the litigation and commercial aspects of turnarounds, reorganizations, liquidations, security enforcement, receiverships, plans of arrangement under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, proposals and bankruptcies under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the purchase and sale of distressed assets and businesses.

Jesse Rosensweet is engaged in a corporate and commercial practice with a technology focus. A member of the Venture Finance Group, he acts for strategic and financial buyers and family offices on M&A transactions. He also advises clients on business formations, complex transactions, debt financing and regulatory matters.

Graham Topa is a member of the Capital Markets and Venture Finance Groups, where he advises on debt and equity financings, secured lending, mezzanine financings, mergers and acquisitions, asset and share sale transactions and general corporate and commercial matters. As Director of the firm’s Startups Group, Graham advises startups and emerging companies with respect to corporate structure, governance, financing and technology licensing and commercialization.
