Simon is a thoughtful advocate. He is passionate about crafting arguments to resolve matters in a cost-effective manner. Simon’s meticulous planning skills and solutions-oriented attitude are key to his commitment to client service.

Simon is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. He advises on a broad range of disputes, including corporate and commercial matters, complex shareholder disputes, privacy and data security, class actions, quasi-criminal regulatory matters and administrative law.

Simon summered and articled at Aird & Berlis before returning as an associate.

Representative Matters

  • Counsel to a director, officer and shareholder in an oppression claim commenced in the Commercial List arising from various corporate governance issues.
  • Counsel to a technology company in several proceedings in the Commercial List arising from indemnity claims made pursuant to an asset purchase agreement.
  • Assisted a discount brokerage with multi-jurisdictional class proceedings over the payment of trailing commission fees.
  • Counsel to a cannabis company in an arbitration arising out of a contractual dispute with a licensee/manufacturer.
  • Counsel to a pharmaceutical company in a class action alleging industry wide breaches of the Competition Act.
  • Counsel to a Crown corporation in an arbitration arising out of a contractual dispute involving public infrastructure projects.
  • Counsel to a director, officer and shareholder of a closely held company in a dispute regarding the valuation and redemption of another shareholder's shares.
  • Counsel to an airline company in a claim commenced by its former shareholders and executives.
  • Counsel to an energy company in a claim alleging it is liable for the acts/omissions of its subsidiary.
  • Represented a development company in having Provincial Offences Act charges dropped against it at trial.
