Devon represents clients in structuring, negotiating and closing corporate transactions with meaningful commercial and socio-economic impact. His practice supports business parties navigating sophisticated deal dynamics, where competing interests and complex legal and commercial issues require practical, outcome-driven solutions. Devon brings a business-minded approach to transactions, adding value at the negotiating table by distilling complex issues, identifying mutually beneficial resolutions to contentious deal points and helping clients move efficiently from structuring and deal strategy through to closing.

Devon is a member of the firm's Corporate Group. His practice focuses on private Canadian mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, typically involving target businesses with enterprise values ranging from $10 million to $500 million. Devon advises professionals, entrepreneurs, owner-operators and private equity sponsors across the business lifecycle, from structuring and growth to strategic transactions and transition planning. His experience includes private equity investments, capital raises, shareholder arrangements and tax-driven reorganizations, as well as cross-border mandates. Devon’s transaction work spans a broad range of industries, including regulated professional practices, insurance, financial services, manufacturing, agribusiness, retail and luxury apparel, hospitality, energy and transactions involving intellectual property and technology assets.
