Aird & Berlis Lawyers Named in Lexpert Special Edition on Technology

 

Aird & Berlis partners Trent Horne, Donald Johnston and Stephen Zolf are among the leading lawyers named in the Lexpert Special Edition: Technology 2020.

Trent is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property and Litigation & Dispute Resolution Groups. He has been certified as a specialist in all areas of intellectual property by the Law Society of Ontario and he is a registered trademark agent in Canada. Trent has particular expertise in patent litigation in a variety of technologies, ranging from genetically modified plants to manufacturing equipment.

Don is Co-chair of the firm’s Technology Group, Co-chair of the Privacy & Data Security Group and a member of the Corporate/Commercial Group. Don has diverse experience in technology, including new technologies like blockchain and autonomous vehicles; intellectual property; mergers and acquisitions; procurement; privacy/data protection; and health law. He regularly provides strategic advice to clients on licensing transactions, financing and development projects, negotiating and settling agreements, and distribution arrangements.

Stephen is a member of the firm’s Corporate/Commercial, Telecommunications, Sports & Media and Technology Groups. Stephen has expertise in regulatory, public law, competition law and copyright law. His understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in the Canadian communications sector enables him to guide clients in implementing new business models in the internet environment of rapidly evolving digital distribution networks and platforms.
