Our 2026/27 Articling Students

Aidan summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. He recently graduated from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. At law school, Aidan worked as a research assistant in the areas of corporate and privacy law. He participated in several competitive moots, including the Zuber Moot and the Transnational Windsor-Detroit Mercy Moot. In his second year, Aidan attained an academic standing that ranked him fourth in his class. In his final year, Aidan completed an exchange at the University of Mannheim in Germany. Aidan also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University, with a major in political science and a minor in history. He played varsity rugby at Queen’s University and while on exchange at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. Prior to law school, Aidan worked as a project manager for several years at a development company, leading multiple construction projects in Toronto. In his free time, he enjoys playing amateur rugby, backcountry skiing, technical wreck diving, mountaineering and playing guitar.

Victoria summered at the firm in 2025. She recently earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, graduating cum laude. In her final year, she represented the University of Ottawa in the Davies Corporate and Securities Law Moot. During law school, Victoria served as a peer mentor for first year students, Vice President Communications of a student-run club and a senior recruitment editor for the law school’s magazine. She also participated in a Pro Bono Students Canada project and completed an internship with the Canadian Medical Association. Prior to law school, Victoria earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from King’s University College at Western University, graduating with Distinction. She received several awards for student leadership and strong academic performance. During her undergraduate studies, Victoria was President of the King’s Political Science Student Association, an orientation leader and an academic mentor. She also worked as a server and bartender throughout her undergraduate degree and first year of law school. Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Victoria spent a summer working at a real estate law firm. Outside of school and work, she enjoys Pilates, reading and spending time with family.

Deborah summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University with Distinction. During law school, Deborah worked as a research assistant, focusing on the intersection of technology and law. Her work examined pressing issues in algorithmic accountability, data privacy and the ethical and legal implications of artificial intelligence. In addition, Deborah served as a member of the Advocacy Committee for her school’s chapter of the Black Law Students’ Association. She also worked as a case worker at her law school’s Pardons Clinic, assisting individuals applying for criminal record suspensions. Prior to law school, Deborah earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce at Queen’s University, graduating on the Dean’s List. Deborah is actively involved in community initiatives and oversees the financial operations of a charity supporting marginalized communities. In her downtime, Deborah cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends.

Shanna summered at the firm in 2025. She recently graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During law school, she served as a caseworker at Queen’s Legal Aid through the Clinical Litigation Practice course, representing Queen’s students and low-income Kingston residents in matters ranging from landlord and tenant disputes to criminal charges for summary offences. She received the Dan Soberman Award for excellence in clinical file work. In her final year, Shanna received the course prize in Legal History of Business Regulation and the Osgoode Society Book Prize for best essay in legal history at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During her studies, she served as a founding Co-President of the Municipal Law Club, an initiative inspired by her previous experience as a summer intern in the legal department of her hometown of Fort Erie. Prior to law school, Shanna earned a Master’s degree in Classics and Archaeology from Queen’s University, where she focused on the iconography of ancient Greek pottery. As part of her studies, Shanna participated in several archaeological excavations in Italy, collaborating with international teams to investigate and document historical sites. Shanna also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from McMaster University, where she graduated summa cum laude. In her free time, Shanna enjoys attending concerts and watching movies.

Helen summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, working with KPMG’s Tax Clinic to assist low-income clients. Helen was born and raised in South Korea and is active within the Korean legal community. Leveraging her fluency in Korean, Helen volunteered as a translator at Toronto’s Korean Legal Clinic. Prior to moving to Canada and attending law school, Helen earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Psychology from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. At Ewha, Helen served as the Student President of her program. Following graduation, she worked as a paralegal at two multinational firms in Seoul and Washington, D.C. Her work focused on international arbitration, cross-border litigation and general corporate matters. Outside of law, Helen enjoys performing at open mic nights, running and hosting friends for dinner. She is also fluent in French and Spanish.

Racheal summered at the firm in 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, graduating with Honours. Prior to moving to Canada, Racheal practised law in Nigeria for seven years. She worked as an associate at two full-service law firms in Nigeria, advising clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial and energy matters, including corporate governance, compliance, transactional and regulatory matters. She later served as the office head at a law firm in Nigeria's capital city. Racheal also earned a Master’s degree in Oil and Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, graduating with commendation. Upon moving to Canada, Racheal obtained her Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation. Before joining Aird & Berlis as a summer student, Racheal worked at the firm as a Legal Assistant (Floater), where she supported various lawyers in the Corporate, Labour & Employment, Real Estate and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice groups. Outside of work, Racheal enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, long walks and amateur photography.

Sonali summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto, where she received accolades for academic excellence, including the Course Unique Best Student prizes in Legal Profession and Psychoanalysis and Law. At law school, Sonali served as the Co-President of the Privacy and Cyber Security Law Group. She also served as a board member of the Business Law Society and of Women and the Law. Sonali served as the Editorial Manager of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review. She was invited to be a Junior Fellow at Massey College, an intellectual community that fosters cross-disciplinary thought and dialogue. Prior to law school, Sonali earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, a women's university near Boston, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Sonali also earned a PhD in French Literature at Princeton University. Sonali's doctoral dissertation focused on humour in postcolonial cultural productions of the Francophone world. Her research has been published in leading academic journals. Sonali also developed and taught French language and literature courses at Princeton. She is fluent in English, French, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Gujarati and Arabic. Outside of work, Sonali is an avid dessert-maker and enjoys watching French and English stand-up comedy.

Henry summered at the firm in 2023 and 2024. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2025, where he received the Honourable William G.C. Howland Award of Excellence for academic excellence and the Navi Pillay International Law Award for excellence in clinical file work. During his second year, Henry served as a student caseworker at the Garden Court Chambers in London, England. Here, he assisted with international legal matters involving the European Convention on Human Rights and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Henry also served as Co-Director of the Sports and Entertainment Law Association, Co-Chair of the Korean Law Students' Association, associate editor at the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and a caseworker at the Community Legal Aid Services Program. In addition, Henry placed third at the Osgoode NHLPA Arbitration Competition. Prior to law school, Henry earned a Master of Science in Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Oxford. His dissertation explored the legal, political and ethical implications of artificial intelligence through a case study about AI surveillance robots in Singapore. During his studies, Henry published a book review on cybersecurity and AI in the Oxonian Review and played on Oxford's Varsity Hockey team, where he was awarded Oxford's top student-athlete award. Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Henry worked at a full-service corporate law firm in Seoul and a PR consulting firm in London, and in various research roles at the University of Toronto. Today, he remains actively connected to his alma mater as a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto in the departments of criminology and sociology. In his free time, Henry enjoys exploring new coffee shops and mom-and-pop restaurants in the city.

Celina summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. During law school, Celina was the 1L Representative for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and competed in the semi-finals of the Canadian and American Transnational Law Moot between the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. She later competed in the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada and the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, where she won the Spirit of Negotiation Award. Celina was actively involved in the Windsor Law community as a peer mentor for first year law students, a research assistant and senior caseworker at Windsor's Community Legal Aid. In her final year, Celina completed an exchange at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland, earning the Global Legal Studies Certificate in International Economic Law, Human Rights and Sustainability. Celina consistently ranked among the top students in her class throughout law school, ranking second overall in her first year and third overall in both her second and third years. She was recognized for her academic excellence and community involvement, receiving the Justice Steven Rogin '71 Memorial Scholarship, Charles J. Clark Scholarship in Law, Fasken Martineau LLP Achievement in Law Award and McCarthy Tétrault Prize. She also worked as a Sports Information Assistant for the Windsor Lancers and played intramural basketball and volleyball. Prior to law school, Celina obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in English from the University of Ottawa, graduating summa cum laude. During her undergraduate career, she represented the Faculty of Arts on the University of Ottawa Senate and its Executive Committee, served as a vice-president of the Communication Student Association and worked as a hockey referee. In her spare time, Celina enjoys spending time outdoors, whether by hiking or exploring new running routes.

Taylor summered at the firm in 2025. She recently graduated from the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the Gerald Flaherty Prize in Entertainment Law for academic excellence. In her first year of law school, Taylor conducted research on contractual disputes in the e-sports industry for the Future of Law Lab. During her second and third years, she served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and volunteered with Artists' Legal Advice Services, a legal clinic dedicated to providing creators with access to summary legal advice. She also spent the summer of 2024 working at a boutique estate litigation firm in Toronto. Prior to law school, Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies and Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, graduating with High Distinction. Before beginning her legal studies, she worked as a script consultant for a film production company and as a member of the Toronto International Film Festival's year-round cinemas team. Beyond her professional pursuits, Taylor enjoys attending movies and concerts, playing guitar and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Ella summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. During law school, Ella served as the 1L Executive on the Criminal Law Students' Association and participated in the Hamish Stewart Cup, a criminal and constitutional law moot for first year students. Ella also volunteered as an intake committee member at Downtown Legal Services (a legal aid clinic affiliated with the University of Toronto) and conducted research for the clinic's Refugee and Immigration Division. In her final year of law school, Ella completed an exchange program at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to law school, Ella earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Political Studies from Queen's University, graduating with Distinction. During her undergraduate studies, Ella served as the Co-President of Queen's Correctional Services Volunteers. In that role, she led a team of 25 students working with federal inmates (including those in isolation units at a maximum-security prison), facilitating skill-building workshops and supporting rehabilitation efforts. Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Ella worked as an Account Associate at a full-service financial marketing agency, nurturing client relationships and coordinating multiple projects. She also worked as a Project Management Intern at a contact centre. Outside of work, Ella enjoys working out, travelling and baking for her friends and family.

Blair summered at the firm in 2024 and 2025. She recently graduated from the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. At law school, Blair served as the President of Women and the Law, participated in the Hamish Stewart Cup (a criminal and constitutional law moot for first year students) and volunteered as a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services (a legal aid clinic affiliated with the University of Toronto). Blair obtained her Honours Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University, graduating with Distinction. At Ivey, Blair served as Vice President of Communications for Ivey's student government and Vice President of Events for the Ivey Law Club. She also co-authored an organizational behaviour case study for Ivey's Executive MBA program and published a political theory paper examining the philosophies of punishment. Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Blair spent summers working at a full-service law firm based in Barrie and coaching at a wakeboarding school in Muskoka. Blair is an avid runner and recently completed her second marathon. She also enjoys golfing and caring for her hive of bees with her family.

Andrew summered at the firm in 2025. He recently graduated from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. During law school, Andrew was actively involved in equity and inclusion initiatives. He served on the executive of Lincoln OUTLaws, a student organization dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for 2SLGBTQIA+ students. He also volunteered with The 519 Legal Clinic through Pro Bono Students Canada, supporting vulnerable communities by helping deliver accessible legal education. Prior to law school, Andrew earned his Chartered Professional Accountant designation and spent nearly a decade building a career in finance. He held progressively senior roles, most recently serving as Financial Reporting Manager at a publicly traded company in the cannabis industry. In this role, Andrew led a team responsible for complex financial reporting and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. His experience in a highly regulated industry sparked an interest in the intersection of law and business, particularly in how legal frameworks shape businesses and emerging industries. This ultimately led him to pursue a career in law. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys travelling, taking vocal lessons, learning Ukrainian and exploring local trails with his golden retriever.
