Aird & Berlis StartupSource Market Entry Award Winner Announced
Aird & Berlis is proud to announce that Senior Care Connect is the winner of the inaugural Aird & Berlis StartupSource Market Entry Award.
Senior Care Connect, founded by Kristal Lewis and co-founded by Taiwo McGregor, competed alongside finalists KPI Ninja and Lyofresh Technologies for the grand prize of $12,500 in cash and $12,500 in ongoing legal support. The grand prize commitments were provided by Randy Williamson, a partner at Aird & Berlis, and Aird & Berlis’s Startup Team, represented by Graham Topa and Daniel Everall.
“Competing and winning the first-ever Aird & Berlis StartupSource Market Entry Award was an unbelievable experience!” said Ms. Lewis. “The continued encouragement and commitment to entrepreneurship that Aird & Berlis has shown is tremendously impactful, and the support from this award will be instrumental in the continued growth of Senior Care Connect. I am so grateful to Randy Williamson and Aird & Berlis for this opportunity.”
As discussed in a previous post, the award is available to top entrepreneurs emerging from York University’s LaunchYU AccelerateUP program. AccelerateUP is an intensive 20-week training program run by Innovation York, during which students develop the key skills and literacy needed to succeed in the startup world.
Applications are now open for York University’s summer accelerator program, which will begin in May. This 4-month program will support entrepreneurs as they develop and launch their ventures. Only the top 20 ventures will be accepted to the AccelerateUP program, and participants will have the opportunity to compete for awards worth $55,000 in total.
