Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Richard was an entrepreneur, operating various car leasing, automotive and light manufacturing businesses in the Toronto area. Drawing on this experience, Richard provides his clients practical, strategic advice beyond the scope of traditional legal services. As a corporate/commercial advisor, he offers guidance on a wide range of matters and issues, including acquisitions and divestures, financings, restructurings and general growth strategy.  An effective listener and creative thinker, Richard delivers innovative solutions that his clients can trust.

Richard is a member of the firm's Financial Services Group. He practises in the areas of insolvency and corporate/commercial law, focusing on reorganizations, restructurings and liquidations with emphasis in the areas of secured financing, creditors' rights, bankruptcy and insolvency.

He has also developed a growing practice involving private businesses, in which he advises entrepreneurs on a wide range of matters. In this capacity, Richard often provides legal and strategic advice to clients.
