Land Use Planner

Josh Hilburt is a land use planner in the firm’s Municipal & Land Use Planning Group.

Josh specializes in preparing and project managing commercial and residential development applications seeking planning approvals in the Greater Toronto Area and across Ontario. These include Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Consents and Minor Variance Applications on behalf of a wide range of private and public sector clients. He coordinates with a range of consultants and liaises with various municipal staff and regulatory agencies to steer applications through the development approvals process. This includes the review of city and agency circulation comments, the coordination of project resubmission packages, and the preparation of materials for public and City Council meetings. He further assists with planning appeals through the preparation of draft amendments, exhibits, document books, notices and other supporting materials for Ontario Municipal Board hearings.

Josh also advises lawyers in the firm’s Real Estate Group based on in-depth site research with respect to Official Plan policy and Zoning By-law compliance for both existing and proposed buildings as part of the real estate due diligence process.
