Fiona Brown

In dealing with a wide variety of labour and employment issues, Fiona takes great care in understanding her clients’ businesses and delivering advice that is tailored to meeting their specific needs. She cares deeply about her clients’ concerns and puts forth the time and effort necessary to resolve their issues.

Fiona is a member of the firm's Workplace Law and Litigation Groups, as well as the Cannabis Group. She represents employers across various industry sectors, advising on discipline, termination and severance issues as well as strategic restructuring and the development, interpretation and application of forward thinking workplace policies and procedures. She also advises employers on compliance with relevant common law, both federal and provincial, as well as contractual and statutory obligations, including occupational health and safety, human rights, labour relations and freedom of information legislation.

Fiona has appeared before various courts and tribunals in connection with wrongful dismissal claims, and benefits claims and appeals, and has worked extensively in the grievance arbitration area interpreting the application of various collective agreements. She also advises on employment issues in the context of corporate/commercial transactions.

Fiona also has experience advising clients in the fitness industry on a variety of issues, including labour & employment, intellectual property, non-competition and confidentiality matters.
