Ron's practice focuses on all aspects of domestic and international tax. On the corporate side, Ron advises on tax aspects of reorganizations, takeovers, divestitures, acquisitions, inbound and outbound financing transactions, asset securitization, and public offerings. On the individual side, Ron advises on owner-manager tax issues, executive compensation, and residency issues. He has acted for multinational corporations and owner-managers on transactional matters and advised on major domestic and cross-border acquisition and financing transactions.
Ron also practises in the GST/HST area and regularly advises clients, in particular non-residents and the real estate industry, on GST/HST issues associated with compliance, collection/remittance or payment issues.
Ron is involved in the firm's India initiative and acts on behalf of Indian companies operating in Canada as well as Canadian companies considering India as an investment destination. Ron has experience in both inbound and outbound financing, investment and corporate transactions involving Canada and India.
Ron is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars and contributes regularly to various publications. He is also a founding member and past President of the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto.
Awarded the International Bar Association Taxation Section Scholarship, 2008.
Recognized by the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce as 2006 Member of the Year. The award was presented to the Young Professionals' Committee chaired by Ron.
